SERVICES

College Counseling Services

Regularly Scheduled Appointments – The grade of the student will determine how often I meet with my students. I meet with my students regularly (via Skype) to review the status of the timeline we have set for the student and his/her family.

Academic Guidance – Successful college admission depends on adequate high school class preparation. I help guide high school class choices and set realistic academic goals based on the caliber of college the student has targeted.

Resume Development – I will help students develop an activity resume that can be used in the college interview and application process. The activities resume is also an intricate part of athletic recruiting, and fine and performing arts opportunities.

College List Development – Developing a list of potential schools is a crucial part of any college plan.  I help students develop a list of colleges that is realistic, challenging, and meet the needs of the students and parents. This list is a working document which means it is always changing based on recent campus visits and changing interests.

College Visit and Interview Preparation – Interviewing for college is similar to interviewing for a job. I assist in scheduling campus visits and help prepare for admission interviews as necessary.

ACT and SAT Guidance – All colleges have different requirements for standardized tests.  I discuss with my students the best time of year to take their ACT or SAT and make sure we meet the registration deadlines. ACT and SAT prep is not a service provided. We leave that to the experts and can refer to tutors when the time is right.

Career Exploration – Every student has unique gifts, abilities, and interests I will help identify talents and research career options that might be of interest.  Job shadowing can be a very telling experience and is highly encouraged.

Admission and Scholarship Applications – College applications can be long and confusing and many colleges require a separate application for those desiring scholarships. I help students and families sort out all the paperwork to get the forms in on time.  Important deadlines and other pertinent information can be missed if the fine print is not read carefully.  Merit-based and talent-based scholarship applications can also be required.  *College Bound Associates, LLC is not a scholarship search organization.

Financial Aid Services – College is expensive and frequently scholarships aren’t enough to cover the costs.  If financial aid is necessary College Bound Associates, LLC will help families explore the different options for paying for college.
